The WHS girls' track team is enjoying a winning season. Seniors Lisa McDade and Whitney Ahlstrand said, "It's exciting to work hard and be part of a winning team." Sarah Peters, Marianne Scott, Vanessa Pierce, Whitney Ahlstrand, Antesa Jensen and Lisa McDade have combined to put up a strong fight when it comes to throwing events. The six girls swept both the shot put and discus events in last week's dual meet with Redmond and Roosevelt taking first through fourth places. Senior Sarah Peters was within one foot of shattering the school record for the shot. The record of 33'3.5" was set in 1985 by Sonja Batley. WHS head coach Bill McClement said, "Girl throwers are becoming a force on the team in a way we've never seen."
