Body of Duvall hiker recovered
Last Sunday, Search and Rescue teams recovered the body of a Duvall man who had fallen on Satuday while hiking on Snoqualmie Pass. The man was identified as Sabbarao V. Vendula, 29.
Vendula had been hiking with two friends Saturday morning near McClellan Butte Trail, east of North Bend. All the men were experienced hikers.
According to Joanne Elledge, King County Sheriff's spokesperson, when the group was about 1 1/4 miles out, the Duvall man fell about 200 feet down an icy slope. A second hiker tried to catch the man, but also fell and was injured. The third hiker walked out for help. The injured man was airlifted out to Harborview Medical Center and is in satisfactory condition with a broken arm.
