Kenmore Junior High scores at History Day competition
Kenmore Junior High placed three students among the finalists in the state History Day competition May 1 and 2 at Central Washington State University. Eighth grader Alicia Parsons won an award for 6th place in the Junior Historical Paper category; Mindy Chism, eighth grade, won 7th place and Leah McLain, eighth grade, won 10th. Six papers, out of 50 submitted from the state's nine regions, were from Kenmore Junior High.
These awards represent Kenmore Junior High's best showing to date in the History Day competition after four years of participation. The one Kenmore entry in the Junior Group performance category, the regional overall winner, was well received by the audience but did not place.
