Driftwood sculpture

The annual Driftwood Sculpture Show will be presented May 30 and 31 at the Country Village Courtyard Hall in Bothell. Saturday hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The show will feature juried driftwood sculptures, finished in the LuRon Method, from approximately 30 area artists.
The exhibit presents weathered wood pieces collected from beaches, rivers, forests, even clearcut areas, then carefully cleaned, shaped, sanded and finished. This painstaking process takes an artist months, sometimes years, to create an interesting piece of driftwood. Admission to the show is free; donations will be accepted for the Inglewood Group Home. Cameras are welcome.
