WHS drama department taking the high road to Scotland
Congratulations to Hjalmer Anderson, director of the Woodinville High School drama department and his students. The drama department has been selected to perform in the world's largest and most prestigious arts festival, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland in August 1999. Woodinville High School, long recognized for its entertaining and innovative productions, was selected by the American High School Theater Festival (AHSTF) along with 18 other high schools to represent the United States.
To be chosen from among all the high schools across the US is a tribute to Hjalmer, his work, dedication and ingenuity, and his many talented and creative students -- past and present. Along with the honor comes the challenge to raise funds for this event. Each participant and chaperon needs to raise $3,300 plus airfare to and from New York to attend.
As you can imagine, Woodinville High School drama and technical support students, their parents and teachers will be heavily involved in fundraising activities to finance their two-week adventure to Scotland. The Booster Club will organize these fund raising efforts throughout this year and next to meet quarterly financial requirements established by the AHSTF. Woodinville High School drama department is taking the high road to Scotland! Thanks Hjalmer!
