Rusch selected for basketball competition
Cedarcrest High School student Melissa Rusch has been selected to participate in the prestigious U.S. Eastern Regional basketball competition for the summer of 1998. The 6'2" junior center will be a team member representing the state of Washington in the U.S. Eastern Regional Championships on July 6-12 in Columbus, Ohio. Based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the USA Junior Nationals provides one of the top amateur competitions in the United States and offers its program to all athletes who have a high interest in basketball and are interested in developing their skills and techniques through statewide, national and international competition.
This is a unique opportunity for all athletes to improve their basketball talent through highly organized competition. USA Junior Nationals offers one-day competitions at 24 sites throughout the country beginning in the fall and continuing in the spring with competitions scheduled throughout the South, Midwest, East and West coasts. Athletes who demonstrate advanced skills, team leadership, competitive spirit and good sportsmanship go on to the next level of play, which is the U. S. Eastern Regional competition in Columbus, Ohio.
