Marge Qualls: Spotlight on community service

Marge Qualls, formerly Marge Gould, grew up in Carnation. Now she is working to give something back to the community that nurtured her formative years. Ms. Qualls is a recent retiree from Puget Sound Energy and is finding retired life as full as the executive life she led at Puget Power for over 20 years.
Ms. Qualls parents kept Carnation as home for over 60 years so Marge never lost her connection to her hometown. Her father's (Elbert Gould) memory is honored with a flag pole at Sno-Valley Senior Center. Her mother, Ethel, still lives in the family home and is an active member of Sno-Valley Seniors herself. Though Ms. Qualls lives in Bellevue her heart has remained to a large extent back home in Carnation. She joined the Sno-Valley Senior Center Board of Directors this year and is now spearheading the Annual Classic Raffle for Sno-Valley Seniors this year.
She is hosting a Kick-Off party at the Sno-Valley Senior Center for this annual fundraiser and invites the community to join her for catered refreshments and fun and prizes everyone will receive just for attending. The party is Wednesday, June 3, 4 p.m. at the senior center in Carnation. Catch Marge's enthusiasm and share an hour of planning and celebration to benefit local senior citizens. Classic Raffle winners will win a car or $5,000 for 1st prize, a trip to Italy for 2nd prize and a $500 savings bond for 3rd prize. Tickets go on sale June 3 at the Kick-Off party.
