County adopts Taiwanese sister county
EVERETT--The Snohomish County Council made their first move in forming a sister-county relationship with Tainan Hsian, Taiwan. Last week, the council adopted a motion formalizing approval of the relationship. A delegation from Taiwan is expected to visit Snohomish County in late June and early July to make it official. The county reportedly beat out Orange County, California which was also considered for sister-hood.
Both Snohomish County and Tainan Hsian share high-tech and aerospace industries, and extend from the water to the mountains. They hope the inter-cultural exchange will further economic development and enhance cultural ties. The Tainan county council has already approved the relationship.
