Valley Special

Around the Valley

   Carnation recycling day
On Saturday, June 20, the Public Works Department of the city of Carnation will sponsor a Special Recycling Collection/Spring Cleanup. The crew and contractors will set up collection stations at Tolt Middle School along SR-203 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. or until full. The event is open to all Valley households to bring recyclables that are usually difficult to recycle in this area.
One station of the collection will be restricted to city of Carnation residents who--for a fee of $3 to $10--may bring one load of bulky garbage that will not fit in their garbage can. The June utility bill stub will be required to drop off bulky garbage.
Valley residents may bring the following household (not commercial) recyclables to the Special Recycling Collection: Refrigerators and freezers, major appliances, scrap metal, tires, vehicle batteries, used motor oil and filters, antifreeze, reusable household goods and plastic plant pots and styrofoam loose packing fill (in a bag). No garbage, other plastics, paint or toxics. Call 788-1185 for information or to volunteer.
