Falcons JV girls finish 3rd

   The Woodinville High School JV Girls Basketball finished 3rd at the Summer Solstice Tournament played in Port Angeles June 20-21. Taylor Stroud led all scorers in the opener with 10 points as the Falcons easily handled the North Kitsap team. After a sluggish first half and trailing by 12 points, the Falcons outplayed a determined Sequim team in the second half, but fell short 34-37. Stroud again led all scorers with nine points. Woodinville had a fairly easy time with Forks as Jamie Cort, Erika Stevenson, Laura McElroy and Taylor Stroud led a balanced attack each scoring six points in a 34-20 victory. Trailing 15-10 at half, the Falcons put on a tremendous defensive display 24-9 in the second half. Erika Stevenson hit two free throws with 30 seconds left to give the Falcons a four point lead, then Kari Morris stole the inbounds pass and hit a short jumper to put the game out of reach. Morris led all scorers with nine points.
