FALL CITY--So, what could a 12-year-old do with a prize of an overnight getaway package for two at the Salish Lodge?
Sean Macrae, a seventh-grader at Chief Kanim Middle School in Fall City, is still pondering that question after winning the prize, worth over $400, at a random drawing at the June 20 Fall City Days Fun Run.
Sean, who ran in the 5K race, won the grand prize, a mid-week massage package from the Salish Lodge and Spa in Snoqualmie. The package includes overnight lodging for two, two one-hour massages and a $75 dining certificate.
Although the youngster said he was "pleasantly surprised" with the win, his parents, Janna Treisman and Ian Macrae, were jubilant, offering plenty of advice to their son as how he could best make use of it.
"We suggested he could share it with his grandmother or sell it to his father," joked Treisman. "After all, the race was run on Father's Day."
Sean is a member of the Eastside Track Club.
He finished the race strongly in the middle of the pack at a time of just over 23 minutes.
He is entered in the 1500 meter race in the Regional Junior Olympics qualifying meet July 18 in Shoreline and hopes to qualify for the National Junior Olympic trials scheduled for the last week of July at Husky Stadium.
