Annual budgeting for fire district
The annual budgeting process for Woodinville Fire and Life Safety District is now beginning. As always, the fire district is looking for ways to provide better service, increase efficiency and make the most of the available resources. Suggestions and ideas from the public are helpful throughout the year, especially between now and the end of July, when the budget is just beginning to be developed for next year.
During July, the persons responsible for the many programs within the fire department identify the various needs. By the end of August, a rough draft is developed. During September, the formal budget is refined. Finally, in October and November the commisioners hold one or more public hearings on the proposed budget and a budget is adopted.
While suggestions are always welcome, this is the time of the year when they can be especially helpful. If you have suggestions for services you would like to see added, discontinued or in some way changed, please send your suggestions to the attention of Steve Smith, Fire Chief, before the end of July if possible. You can can reach him at Woodinville Fire and Life Safety District, 19900 144 Ave NE. Woodinville, WA 98072; phone at (425) 483-2131; fax at (425) 486-0361; or e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org
