Two WHS students represent state
Woodinville High School juniors Morgan Greenwood and Sina Nazemni have been elected to go to Washington, D.C. to represent Washington State as senators at Girls and Boys Nation. Sponsored by the American Legion, the programs are held in July Washington, D.C. two weeks apart.
Two outstanding girls and boys are selected each year at state-level competition held at Central Washington University where more than 400 girls and 400 boys are involved with political party rallies, debates campaigns and legislative sessions as they build city, county and state governments. The national version of Girls and Boys State concentrates on national government. Ninety six senators from 48 states organize political parties, elect party and federal officials, debate bills in senate sessions and hold a national convention. They are scheduled to meet with President Clinton, who was a Boys State delegate in high school.
Morgan is a active in swim team, Honor Society, symphonic band, jazz band and the orchestra. This summer she plans to intern with Congressman Rick White. Sina spent the last semester in Washington, D. C. working as a Slade Gorton senate page.
