David Howard, Jr., from Duvall, recently returned from Waterloo, Iowa, where he placed sixth in the Kids Freestlyle and Greco-Roman National Championships hosted by USA Wrestling.
After months of local, state and regional tournaments, and literally thousands of wrestlers, the top five wrestlers in each of the four American regions qualified for the Nationals.
Those 20 wrestlers at Nationals dueled it out to be in the top six in the country to become All Americans.
David, a 65-pound midget division wrestler (9-10-year-olds), placed sixth by beating the Michigan State Champion.
