Woodinville Repertory Theater is in a full rehearsal and set design schedule for their first performance, the Paul Rudnick comedy "I Hate Hamlet!"
With a cast of six professional and semi-professional actors, the play will be performed on August 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22 at 8 p.m. and August 16 & 23 at 2 p.m. in the Leota Junior High Theater.
The cast, in order of appearance, includes Melanie Workhoven as Felica Dantine, Jason Griffin as Andrew Rally, Jennifer Brady as Deirdre McDavey, Melanie Calderwood as Lillian Troy, Daniel Grossbard as John Barrymore and David Wingert as Gary Peter Lefkowitz.
Peg Phillips, a professional actress who played Ruth Ann in the TV series Northern Exposure, and Hjalmer Anderson, director of the Woodinville High School Drama Department, are co-directors of the production.
Todd Westendorf, Drama Director at Leota Jr. High, is the Technical Director. Tim Hagerman, Drama Director at Timbercrest Jr. High, is the Assistant Technical Director. The set design is by well-known set designer Jon Triplett.
"We need to borrow a throne or heavy ornate chair. We will pick up and return it. Other items we also need are a small, contemporary square-like, six-foot sofa. It can be ugly. The last things needed are old-style electric scones for the fireplace," said Triplett. Call 425-823-6639 to offer information about any of these items.
Ticket prices are $12 for general admission and $10 for students and seniors. Call 425-481-8502 for ticket purchase and further information. Tickets are also available at McCorry's on the Slough.
