Evergreen State Fair opens
The Evergreen State Fair rolls into Monroe from Aug. 27--Sept. 7 at the Evergreen Fairgrounds.
The monster trucks are returning to the fair for one day only, Friday, Sept. 4 at 7 p.m.
For a taste of the wild west, the famous Evergreen Rodeo will be held Sept. 4 at 8 p.m. and Sept. 5--7 at 2 p.m.
A free concert series will star John Michael Montgomery on Aug. 30; REO Speedwagon, Aug. 31 and Carman, Sept. 3. Performances will be 7p.m.
Trace Adkins is scheduled for Sept. 1 and Glen Campbell will perform Sept. 2 at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Other attractions include: a live shark show, carnival rides, equestrian events and lumberjack shows.
Regular admission prices at the fair are $7 for adults (16-61 years), $5 for senior citizens, $4 for youth (6-15 years). Children (5 years and under) and seniors over 90 years old are free.
Save money on special admission days: Aug. 27 and Sept 3 is Kid's Day; children 15 and under get in free. Senior Citizen Day will be held on Aug. 28; persons 62+ years get in free.
Armed Forces Day is planned for Sept. 4 with free admission for Armed Forces personnel in uniform.
Last Chance Day will be Sept. 7 with half price admission during fair hours from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
