Keeney's "Schoolbucks Fundraiser"

The 2nd annual Keeney's Office Plus "Schoolbucks Fundraiser" is in full swing at all seven of Keeney's locations. Raising money for area schools is part of the committment of Lisa Keeney, president of this local business.

"We have seen our area schools struggling to fulfill basic needs with budget cuts and school levy failures. We just felt it was time to give back directly to the community that has supported us over the years," said Keeney.

Keeney's has vouchers customers pick up and fill out for the schools of their choice. Between August 1 and September 15, 10% of all purchases accompanied by a Schoolbucks voucher go to that school fund.

Last year Keeney's raised $6,415 for Northshore School District, $2,480 for Lake Washington and $1,469 for Bellevue.

"The money that you have donated has been put into a fund at a local school to benefit students who have monetary needs in order to give them equal access to the opportunites available at these schools. This is a much needed fund and your contribution has made it possible," said a Timbercrest Junior High official.

Started in 1947 as the second tenant in Bellevue Square, Keeney's has grown to seven stores including Woodinville and is part of an independent dealer network, Office Plus.
