Aug. 27: A 55-year-old Redmond man was booked into King County Jail after hitting a stop sign at the intersection of N.E. 173rd St. and Woodinville Dr. and then driving off. When stopped by police, he apologized, though apparently had made no effort to contact anyone about the damage.
Aug. 25: A resident in the 17000 block of 124th Ave. N.E. reports numerous hang-up phone calls at all hours over the past month. As many as 15 have occurred in an evening.
Aug. 24: Someone tried to pry open the front doors of the Country Store at around 3 a.m. Officers heard an alarm and investigated, finding damage to the doors, a plate glass window and a bike-type lock.
Aug. 23: Overnight, a rock was thrown at a 4-foot by 4-foot double-pane window on a portable at Leota Junior High, breaking the outer pane. Damage was estimated at $150. The next night, unknown suspects started a fire on a sidewalk near the portable. A custodian found a one-foot diameter pile of burnt trash near the bus loading zone.
Aug. 20: Someone took an ATM card from a 20-year-old Kirkland woman and used it to make unauthorized withdrawals from her checkings and savings accounts July 21.
Aug. 10: A package disappeared from a parcel delivery box south of "The Farm" on Hollywood Hill, leaving the victim wondering whether she lost something special. Anyone with information is asked to call the Weekly who will contact her.
