Jazz Northwest to celebrate diversity

Dancers Amy Sennett and Nick DeSantis will perform in 'Jazz Northwest' at Cedarcrest High School.

   Spectrum Dance Theater will present "Jazz Northwest" at Cedarcrest High School in Duvall on Friday, Sept. 18 at 7:30 p.m. This performance will be an evening of dance that celebrates the diversity of art forms indigenous to the American culture.
   Spectrum Dance Theater is known as a dynamic dance company performing contemporary American works by well-known names and fresh new voices.
   Spectrum's Network Performance will be composed of four pieces from its touring repertoire including: Ann Reinking's "Nilsson Schmilsson," Lar Lubovitch's "Waiting For the Sunrise," Frank Chaves' "Cruisin' Suite," Seattle native Nancy Cranbourne's ""Blue Plate Special," Claire Bataille's "Tchokola" and Spectrum's former principal dancer Mark Kane's "Of Passion, You Have Plenty."

   Spectrum will offer a free jazz dance workshop on Thursday, September 10 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Cedarcrest High School gymnasium. No previous dance experience is required.
