Sandsculpture in Bellevue Square
Duvall-area residents who enjoy being a part of the creation of the annual sandsculpture during the summer Sandblast event, may enjoy watching the formation of a 19' tall sand sculpture being created in Center Court of Bellevue Square beginning Sept. 10.
Built by The Sand Sculpture Company of Woodstock, Illinois, the sculpture will feature an "under the sea" theme that is relative to the Pacific Northwest. Plans include a reproduction of the Grays Harbor lighthouse with a representation of a gigantic octopus and will feature creatures and fish and buried treasure.
The finished masterpiece will be on display through Sept. 27.The Sand Sculpture Company artisans, headed by Ted Siebert and Charlie Beaulieu, Northwest natives, are the current world record holders for the tallest outdoor hand-shoveled sand sculpture.
