Invitation to Bards, Poets and Musicians

Valley of the Moon Poet's Circle will convene on Sunday, Sept. 20, 5 - 7 p.m. at Gardens and Sunspaces Gallery, 15611 Main St., Duvall. Wordsmiths and performers of original music are invited to share their stories, humor and song. First-time to published, youngsters to old-timers, clean-collar to dirty-collar, all writers are welcome. Political, romantic and esoteric works okay. The event is free and open to the public. Athletic fields voter rally

The Riverview Schools Committee is holding a voter rally for the Riverview Athletic Recreation Facilities Bond. Anyone who supports the facilities bond for schools and the community needs to attend the rally in the barn at MacDonald Park in Carnation on Sept. 16, from 7 - 8 p.m. Contact Dan Pflugrath, 880-6099 or Wally Costello, 880-6363 for information.

Free family math workshop

Parents and their first through third grade children will learn how to have fun with math and problem-solving at a free workshop at the Duvall Library on Tuesday, Sept. 22 from 6:30 - 8 p.m. Families will play games and get ideas they can use to help their children become better at math and problem-solving. Free 'Family Fun with Learning' workshop

Parents and children will learn how to make reading and writing fun at a free workshop at the Snoqualmie Library on Thursday, Sept. 24 from 6:30 - 8 p.m. This workshop is for parents and children grades 1-3. To register, call Eastside Literacy at 558-2459.

Fitness classes in Duvall

Fit Happens! Fitness Studio in Duvall has announced its schedule of fall instruction. Aerobic classes will be held MWF at 9:30 a.m. Kid Fitness strength and aerobic training is set for Thursdays, 3:45 p.m. $20 per month per family. Also free Saturday aerobic classes will be held at 9 a.m., featuring 45 minutes of aerobic conditioning and 30 minutes of strength training. Call 844-9027.

Parenting classes

Children's Services of Sno-Valley and Friends of Youth Snoqualmie are offering the following classes this fall: Strengthening Families; Parenting for Pleasure. Also Solo Parent Support Group 6:30 - 7:30 at Children's Services. Free on-site childcare is provided. For information, call 888-2777.

All-Valley potluck at Senior Center

A Valley potluck will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at the Sno-Valley Senior Center in Carnation. This is open to everybody in the Valley. Lunch starts at 12:30. Bring your favorite item according to A-M salad or main dish; N-Z dessert or chips and snacks. Those who plan to come should call the Center at 333-4152.

Become a volunteer mentor

The Snoqualmie Valley Youth Mentoring Program is offering a mentor training on Friday, Oct. 3, 7 - 9 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 4 from 9-3 in the Snoqualmie office of Friends of Youth, 7972 Maple Ave. SE.
