The semifinalists from Bothell High School are Kandace Lamar, daughter of Celeste and Stuart Lamar of Bothell; Allysa Lamb, daughter of Joan Lamb of Bothell; and Anand Venkatesan, son of Gita and Prasanna Venkatesan of Bothell.
Those named from Inglemoor High School are Daniel Dale, son of Robin and Sharon Dale of Bothell; Walter Downing, son of Earl Downing and Ellen Timothy of Woodinville; Gavin Kovite, son of Jeffrey and Annette Kovite of Bothell; and Tyler Larson, son of Neil and Kirby Larson of Bothell.
The semifinalists from Woodinville High School are Robert Bradshaw, son of Kathleen and Jeffrey Bradshaw from Redmond; Megan Carlisle, daughter of Rodney and Maureen Carlisle of Woodinville; and Lindsay Metcalfe, daughter of Lee and Pam Metcalfe of Woodinville.
Across the nation, the Foundation designates about 15,000 semifinalists from among one million students who take the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test.
The semifinalists, who represent less than one percent of each state's high school graduating class, are now competing for Merit Finalist status and an opportunity to obtain a National Merit Scholarship next spring.
