Cub Scout Will Luce goes after a zucchini he and den mates Travis Schuldt and Brody Wendel, and the rest of Pack 578, planted to help out the Redmond Food Bank. The scouts, eight and nine-year-olds who live near the Avondale Road southeast of Woodinville, also planted pumpkins, carrots, cabbage, lettuce and peas in garden space donated by a family earlier this year. They've made six trips to the food bank with their harvest so far and say helping out others has given them a "good" feeling. Said den mother Michelle Luce, "Hopefully, it raised their awareness of how easy it is to help others." It appears it has, as they indicated they'd like to do a garden again next year. Luce said planting a garden was also what they had to do for a rank achievement. Not pictured are Johnathon Henke, Vinny Arora and Blake Parsons.
