UMO Ensemble's Buffoons in "El Dorado."

As part of the King County Performance Network and the arts commissions of Duvall and King County, Vashon Island's UMO Ensemble will present "El Dorado" Oct. 31 at 7:30 p.m.

An original work it was created by UMO in the style of European Buffoon Theater and is an acrobatic and colorful form of theater.

"El Dorado" features a clutch of Buffoons who focus their unbridled energies on the Conquistador's quest for the legendary Kingdom of Gold in the Americas. Through dark humor, live music, stylized text and fantastical images the Buffoons reveal the spirit of conquest and domination.

Tickets for the event are available by calling 1-800-677-ARTS, by mail at Box 1043, Duvall, WA 98019 (include SASE), by leaving a reservation at Gardens & Sunspaces (425-788-9844) or at the door.

UMO will offer a free Intergenerational Workshop suitable for ages 16 and up (14-16 if accompanied by parent) on Oct. 24 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Cedarcrest High School gymnasium.
