Wildcliffe Showcase traffic concerns to be addressed

Because the Designer Showcase at the Wildcliffe Mansion is expected to bring considerable traffic to the lower Simonds Road area from Oct. 11 to Nov. 8, sponsors of the event will be canvassing neighbors this week to discuss concerns about parking and traffic impacts. Also, Northshore Utility District has agreed to move their Simonds Road sewer project to the upper portion of the road to help reduce traffic congestion.

Sponsored by the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), the Showcase will feature interior designer furnishings throughout the 7,000 square foot French Provincial mansion. Proceeds from the event will benefit ASID and the Leukemia Society of America.

After the showcase, Wildcliffe will be available for weddings, family reunions, business meetings or other events.

Co-owner Charles Kerber says long range plans call for it to be developed into the Wildcliffe Inn Bed & Breakfast. An additional eight room structure is scheduled for construction in early 1999.

The mansion is located at 7332 NE 17th St. For more information on the Designer Showcase, call the event hotline at 206-444-1200.
