Obituary: Deloris Ida Potter

   Deloris Ida Potter, resident of the Cle Elum Valley since 1979, passed to her reward on Tuesday, Sept. 22, in Ellensburg.
   Deloris was born to Henry Blondin and Annie Marquardt in Hawick, Minnesota on June 12, 1929. She loved God, her church and her family.
   Deloris married Vernal N. Potter on March 25, 1946 in Wadena, Minnesota.
   The Potters left Minnesota for the Alaskan Territory in 1950 in a caravan of five families that bolted house trailers to flatbed trucks. They returned to the states and other family living in the Seattle area in 1955. Within a couple of years they settled in Duvall.
   Deloris took a variety of jobs throughout her life to help support the family, finally earning her GED so she could work for United Control, an electronics company, in Redmond.
   Vernal and Deloris retired to a home on the Teanaway in 1979.
   Vernal died June 8, 1983 in Cle Elum. Deloris and Vernal are survived by six children, Dennis, Deanna, Darrel, Gary, Greg and Greta; 13 grandchildren, Cheri, Troy, Branden, Brett, Genah, Ryan, Daniel, Brad, Nicholas, Nathan, Curtis, Cyle and Todd, and two great-grandchildren, Jonquill and Roslyn.
   Services were held in Roslyn's Immaculate Conception Church on Sept. 29. A Rosary was said in Cle Elum's St. John's Catholic Church.
