Mike Wagner made the most of his first start as the Woodinville Falcons' quarterback, factoring in three of their four first-half touchdowns, and leading the team to a 40-14 victory over the Garfield Bulldogs.

Wagner, a junior who was starting in place of injured senior Kris Billmaier, engineered Woodinville's first touchdown on a 27-yard keeper on the Falcons' first possession. He finished with four touchdowns and 91 yards rushing on eight carries.

"The Bulldogs gave us good field position and we were able to execute and capitalize," said Wagner. "I was much more relaxed this week because we had a good week of practice in which I had a lot of repetitions with the first team. I was more confident and was able to use my speed to help the team run the ball."

   Wagner runs a 4.5 second 40-yard dash.

The Falcon running game was also helped considerably by fullback Aaron "the bus" Hineline who rushed for 126 yards on 15 carries, and one touchdown.

"This is a big win for us," said Hineline. "We need to win the rest of our games."

Head Coach Terry Agnew gave his younger players game experience and Alex Bobinger scored for the Falcons on a 6-yard run for Woodinville's final score.

The Falcons finished with 296 yards on the ground. Curtis Cruz made four of six point after touchdowns.

Defensively, Brett Harris had five tackles and one blocked punt. The Falcons also recovered five fumbles and had one interception.

Woodinville is 4-1. Homecoming is this Saturday night against Franklin.
