Last Wednesday, Derek Berg and Sean Beveridge played the District Tournament at the long and difficult par 72 Druids Glen Golf Course in Kent. It was a beautiful clear day with a great view of Mt. Rainier.
Derek Berg shot a terrific 5 under par 67 round to win the whole tournament, beating the next closest golfer by three.
Sean Beveridge had a rocky start with a 44 on the front nine, but came back with a 39 on the back. He missed the alternate spot for State by one stroke but his 83 along with Derek's 67 got enough points as a team to get 7th in Districts out of 13 teams.
Derek was 21 under par for the year. He was 8 under par for the last three 18-hole championship rounds (league, medalist, district). He was 20 under par for 155 holes of golf this year. No one in Kingco Golf has ever shot these kinds of numbers in the history of Kingco Conference.
