Halloween in Swiftwater

Carnation's Swiftwater residents invite trick or treaters to come to their neighborhood. Parents should park their cars and walk with their little goblins. Some of the streets will be coned off to deter drivers and encourage trick or treaters. Parking is along the sidewalks in the first and second entrances into Swiftwater.
  
  

Harvest Carnival

What's loads of fun, five years old and free? The Harvest Carnival at the Duvall Church on Oct. 31, from 6-8 p.m. Enjoy game booths, story telling, face painting, cookie decorating and the incredible Amazing Maze. The Duvall Church is located on the corner of Main and Stella Streets. A donation of a can of food or a bag of candy is appreciated.
  
  

Women's breakfast

The Snoqualmie Valley Women's breakfast is held on the first Saturday of the month from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at the Cherry Gardens Community Club, junction of Kelly Road and Cherry Valley Road, Duvall. Those who attend should bring a dish for the potluck breakfast. Coffee and tea are provided. On Nov. 7, Linda Sebenius, a local recording artist, will entertain with piano playing and singing. There will also be a bazaar for women interested in selling their crafts, art work or gift certificates. Please call Elana at 788-3430 to reserve a space.
  
  

Free family math workshop

Parents and their first through third grade children will learn how to have fun with math and problem-solving at a free workshop at the Carnation Elementary School Learning Resource Center on Monday, Nov. 2 from 6:30-8 p.m. Call 844-2459.
  
  

'Fun With Learning' workshop

Parents and children will learn how to make reading and writing fun at a free workshop at the Stillwater Elementary School Learning Resource Center on Thursday, Nov. 5 from 6:30-8 p.m.
  
   This workshop is for parents and children grades 1-3. Families will learn how to identify and use seven different kinds of intelligences and learn how to apply this knowledge to reading and writing activities. Call 844-2459.
  
  

Kids' weight training

Party set to honor Nan Harty

The Sno-Valley Senior Center in Carnation will host an open house and potluck on Oct. 30, noon-3 p.m. to say goodbye to Nan Harty, longtime Center director. The community is invited.
  
  

'Fright Night' Oct. 30 activities

Celebrate Halloween with safe, fun-filled activities for the whole family. Family "Fright Night" will be held at Si View Gym in North Bend on Friday evening, Oct. 30 from 7-9 p.m. Planned activities include a costume party, music and dancing, crafts and games and a performance by James the Puppeteer.
  
   The event is sponsored by the Palladium Council of Children's Services and attendance is free. Costumes are encouraged for guests of all ages. For further information, call 425-888-2777.
