Skate park workshop

  A skate park workshop to help create a skate park in the Valley is set for Nov. 5, 6:30-9 p.m. at Cherry Valley Elementary.   Looking for ideas on how to make math fun? Parents and their first through third grade children will learn how to have a good time with math at a free workshop at the Fall City Elementary School Learning Resource Center on Tuesday, Nov. 10 from 6:30-8 p.m.

Valley Tops class

  Sno-Valley Senior Center and Tops are joining together to offer a Valley Tops class. Tops stands for Take Off Pounds Sensibly. They meet weekly on Monday evenings at the senior center in Carnation, 4610 Stephens Ave. Weigh-in starts at 6 p.m., the meeting at 6:30 p.m. Those attending pay a monthly dues of $3 for seniors and $5 for all others. 'Fun With Learning' workshop

  Parents and children will learn how to make reading and writing fun at a free workshop at the Stillwater Elementary School Learning Resource Center on Thursday, Nov. 5 from 6:30-8 p.m.
  
   This workshop is for parents and children grades 1-3. Families will learn how to identify and use seven different kinds of intelligences and learn how to apply this knowledge to reading and writing activities. Call 844-2459.

  The Carnation Fourth of July Committee is looking for volunteers to help organize the Fourth of July festivities in Carnation. Home ownership workshop

  A home ownership workshop on Saturday, Nov. 7, sponsored by the Washington Community Housing Network, will provide step-by-step guidance for those considering purchasing their own home. The program will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Children's Services of Sno-Valley, 1407 Boalch Ave. NW in North Bend. Participants will learn about negotiation, financing and how credit reports affect home buying. All attendees will earn a Borrowers/Lenders Certificate for all Washington housing programs. Benefit community dinner

  A community dinner will be held on Nov. 9, 6:30-9 p.m. at Cedarcrest High School to raise money for the Eastside Domestic Violence Center. Cost is $4 per person.
