Proposed budget adds staff, holds line on property taxes
Woodinville would spend $9.6 million in 1999 under the city manager's recommended budget, focusing a good chunk of that on streets, as well as hiring eight more employees and setting $1.2 million aside for a future city hall/civic center, all the while holding the property tax rate at the same level as in recent years.
Archaelogists complete work at ancient site
For five months, archeologists have dug and sifted dirt at the location of an ancient Indian camp found recently on a terrace above the Tolt River. Their efforts have been fruitful. Twenty-two boxes of stone tools, flakes and spearpoints have been recovered from the 10-acre site. Experts believe the artifacts are 8,000 years old.
