Cherry Valley Cheetah Walk earns record amount

winner

   DUVALL--The 1998 Cherry Valley Elementary Cheetah Walk last month earned $9,400 that will go toward PTSA programs and new playground equipment, according to event chair Marla Johnson.
  
   School children requested sponsors or pledges for the walk-a-thon laps they finished.
   "We want to thank the community for their efforts," said Johnson.
  
   The following prize winners were announced:
  
   Grand Prize winners for Grades K-1-2:

5th Place-Taylor Werner (Video Factory 10 movie pass); 4th Place-Zackary Rakus (Nickelodeon Talk Radio); 3rd Place-Trenton Clayberg (I Spy computer games); 2nd Place-Madeline Rocchio (Nintendo Speedy Gonzales); 1st Place-Angela Leggett (V-Tech Future Computer).

   Grand Prize winners for Grades 3-4-5:
5th Place-Emily Bemis (Video Factory 10 Movie Pass); 4th Place-Nicole Clopper (Nickelodeon Talk Radio); 3rd Place-Sean Nigel (Ed-Mark Zap Game); 2nd Place-Evan Lynch (Nintendo International Soccer); 1st Place-Patricia Mejia (V-Tech Graduate Computer).

   Classroom Ice Cream Party winners (first classes to turn in all pledge money):
Grades K-1-2: Mrs Armstrong, Grades 3-4-5: Mr. Wier.

   Classroom Popcorn Party winners (classes with 100 percent participation):

   Grades K-1-2: Calapp (a.m.), Hauser, Sumner, Armstrong, Brooks, Kruse and Brune.
   Grades 3-4-5: Harris, Christopherson, Baehler, Wier, Hersch and Swenson-Healy.

   The Woodland Park Zoo Adopt an Animal Certificate went to Mrs. Harris' class for the most money collected by a classroom.
