Recycle it in Bothell

During winter months (Dec., Jan., and Feb.), yard waste in Bothell will be collected every other week on the assigned garbage collection day. Yard waste will be collected during the weeks of: Dec. 1, Dec. 14, Dec. 28, Jan. 11, Jan. 25, Feb. 8, and Feb. 22.

When the winds start to blow, there are a lot of questions about leaves, needles, and branches that pile up. After most storms, there will not be a special yard debris pickup because of the expense for this extra service. Debris will be picked up on the next regularly scheduled yard waste pickup day. A reminder from the Fire Department: burning of yard debris is a violation of Puget Sound air quality standards and is not allowed in Bothell.

Waste Management will not collect on Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day. These are the only holidays without collection service. This will impact service on the day of the holiday and the day following the holiday only. For example, if the holiday falls on Thursday, the Thursday pickups will be on Friday; the Friday pickups will be on Saturday.

With many people traveling out of town for holidays, anticipate earlier pickup times than normal. Please have materials placed out for collection early in the morning. In fact, it is wise to place them out the night before.
