Valley Special

Community Thanksgiving Day Dinner

A free Duvall and Carnation Community Thanksgiving dinner will be served to any person or family in the Valley community who would otherwise not have a meal or companionship during the holiday.

The dinner will be served family-style at Holy Innocents Church Hall, 26631 NE Cherry, in Duvall, from noon to 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26.

This non-denominational event is sponsored by a number of community outreach organizations, including Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Duvall, with the use of their hall and kitchen.

Some of the other generous contributions thus far include: rolls, stuffing, and pumpkin pies from the Little Country Bakery in Duvall; fresh flower centerpieces and other decorations from Duvall Hand Crafters; the loan of dishware and tables from St. Vincent de Paul in Carnation; and the partners of Carnation Starbucks will match the funds collected in the cash donation can in their restaurant.

"The community response to the all-volunteer dinner has been outstanding," said Barbara Browne, co-chair of the event. "We knew the generosity of our friends and neighbors in the Valley was great, and this just shows how right we were."
