Santa & friend

   Appointments are not required for a 4x6 studio print of your child or pet taken with Santa at Woodinville Photo & Gift, 13210 NE 175th St., Dec. 5, 6, 12, and 13. Santa's visiting hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays. 485-2927.

Alexandra Weaver visited Santa Claus at Classic Nursery. Besides stories and pony rides, crafts, and a petting zoo are featured. Holiday events continue for the next two weekends.

   The 15th annual Holiday Open House at Classic Nursery will be held Dec. 5, 6, 12, and 13 from noon to 4 p.m. Featured at the event will be Santa telling stories and building toys, pony rides, and baby animals for viewing and petting. Call (425) 885-5678, or by e-mail at classicnursery@msn.com.

   The Worship and Arts Ministry of the Woodinville Alliance Church will present a Dessert Theatre production of An Evening in December on Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. The church is located at 13940 NE 166th in Woodinville. To reserve tickets, call (425) 486-0397.

   Santa Claus and his sleigh will descend from the sky at Country Village Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. A traditional lighting of the 20-foot tree with over 8,000 lights will follow. Other events during the day will include caroling, pony and train rides, a Clara Claus reading at 6 p.m., and a variety of unusual holiday light displays. The newest light addition is a 30-foot sea serpent in green, red, and white lights. Also at Country Village this year will be four "Giving Trees" decorated with tags bearing the names and ages of children.

   The ArtisTree Gallery at Country Village will present its annual multi-artist Holiday Art Show in Courtyard Hall on Dec. 5 and 6 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

   The St. Thomas Chapel at Bastyr University in Bothell (14500 Juanita Dr. NE) will be the site of the Ceremony of Carols on Dec. 6 at 3:30 p.m. The concert includes a traditional carol sing-along and candlelight processional. For tickets, call (206) 523-1196.

   Kick off the holiday season with the festive lighting of Chateau Ste. Michelle and its grounds Dec. 6 at 5 p.m. Over 26,000 lights will illuminate the chateau as Dickens carolers sing favorite holiday songs. Other holiday events at Ste. Michelle include holiday music, evenings of wine and cheese, baking classes, wine tastings, and grapevine wreath-making. Most events are free with a food donation to Northwest Harvest. (425) 488-3300.
