Three floods in three weeks

The Snoqualmie River has gone over its banks three times in as many weeks due to record-breaking November rainfall. Last week, the river crested at Carnation on Thanksgiving day at three feet over flood stage.

The last November rainfall record was set in 1990, when a fierce storm hit the region on Thanksgiving weekend. Locally, over 600 cows drowned near Duvall and one man lost his life when he was swept from his car while attempting to drive across the Woodinville-Duvall Road. He was with his wife and baby, who were rescued from the water by fire crews.
