Random acts of kindness appreciated

I drive a Metro bus and I wish to share with you and your readers the very unusual experiences I have had on the streets of King County this week.

It is no secret that there is hardly a driver in the whole county who will willingly drive behind a Metro bus and yet, this week, I have had only to signal my wish to change lanes or re-enter traffic after making a stop and drivers have slowed or moved over to allow me the space I needed.

If these are random acts of kindness--thanks. I have enjoyed the courtesy. If, however, these are drivers who never ride the bus and don't know any bus drivers personally and who have chosen this way to show empathy and support to our dispirited, bruised, and bleeding workforce, I don't know how to say how much this means to me.

I hope you and your loved ones have a wonderful holiday season.
