Holiday Happenings

   Thousands of lights at Woodinville's DeYoung Park will signal the beginning of the city's annual Light Festival Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. Santa's grand arrival will follow at 7:15 p.m. Kids can make crafts at Santa's Workshop from 6 to 9 p.m. and have their photos taken with Santa beginning at 7:15 p.m. A free Holiday Magic Laser Show from DeYoung Park is planned for 8 p.m., and through the evening holiday songs will be performed by M-PACT. The festivities will continue on Saturday with Santa's Workshop from 6-8 p.m. and music and laser shows at 7:30 and 9 p.m. A free Elf Express Light Train will shuttle shoppers from the depot at DeYoung Park to Woodinville's stores from 6 to 10 p.m. Call 489-2700.

   The Woodinville High School choir will perform two 30-minute programs on board the Christmas Ship Dec. 12. The concerts will be held at Juanita Bay Park from 7:25 to 7:55 p.m. and at the Sheridan Beach Club from 8:30 to 9 p.m. Call (206) 623-1445.

   Alderwood Mall's Santa will be in front of the giant Christmas tree in Center Court through Dec. 24 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m on Sundays.

   The Dickens Carolers will perform at Washington Cathedral worship services Dec. 12 at 6 p.m. and Dec. 13 at 8:45, 10:15 and 11:45 a.m. The free "Christmas Bursts Into Beauty" pageants are scheduled for Dec. 20-24 at 6 and 8 p.m. with a special 11:30 p.m. pageant on Christmas eve.    A special Santa Breakfast will be held at the Victorian Mansion Dec. 13 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Snohomish. The menu includes eggs benedict or scrambled eggs, cottage fries, fruit, and baked breads and cakes. Cost is $10 per plate. The event will feature personal visits with Santa and horse-drawn carriage rides. The mansion is located at 610 1st St. in Snohomish. Call (360) 794-1078 for reservations.

   The Issaquah Reindeer Festival at Cougar Mountain Zoo runs through Dec. 23. Besides Santa, a baby reindeer and an elf, music, lights, and sights and sounds of the holidays are featured. Call 392-6278.

   A Holiday Dance Festival is planned for Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m at the Shorecrest Performing Arts Center, 15343 25th NE in Shoreline. General admission is $10. Call (206) 528-8183.
