Santa Claus is coming

   Santa will arrive via a Woodinville Fire & Life Safety fire engine Dec. 19 at noon at the Woodinville Lions Mountain View Community Club, 19008 168th Ave. NE. Santa and Mrs. Claus will hand out apples and candy canes and visit with the children. Free pictures will be taken.

Winter Solstice service

   A Winter Solstice service followed by old English country dancing with live music will be presented Dec. 21 at 7:30 p.m. at the Woodinville Unitarian Universalist Church, 18900 168th Ave. NE. Call (425) 486-7693.

Carols on Wednesdays

   Favorite Christmas carols continue Dec. 16 and 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m at the Woodinville Community United Methodist Church (across from McDonald's). Bring lunch and a friend and enjoy the music.

'Gloria in Excelsis Deo'

   North Creek Presbyterian Church will present a free choral concert, "Gloria in Excelsis Deo," Dec. 18 and 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the church, 621 164th SE in Mill Creek. Child care for children ages two and under will be available. Call (425) 743-2386.

Christmas Bursting into Beauty at Washington Cathedral

   "Christmas Bursting Into Beauty" is the theme of eleven free Washington Cathedral Christmas pageants presented in its sanctuary at 12300 Woodinville-Redmond Rd. NE. Performance times for the eleven free pageants are 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. each evening Sunday, Dec. 20 through Thursday, Dec. 24, and a special 11:30 p.m. performance on Christmas Eve, Thursday, Dec. 24. Each performance is traditionally filled to capacity, but free tickets will insure seating for all.
   Two additional performances have been added this year to accommodate the increasing number of attendees. Tickets may be reserved by calling the church at 425-869-5433, or through its website at www.wacathedral.org. Nursery services are provided for each pageant, except the 11:30p.m. Christmas Eve performance.

   The Island Sound Girls Choir will provide inspirational Christmas music at Washington Cathedral worship services Saturday, Dec. 19, at 6 pm and Sunday, Dec 20, at 8:45, 10:15, and 11:45 a.m. Washington Cathedral is located at 12300 Woodinville-Redmond Road NE.

All are welcome at Christmas dinner

   Community Friends invites the public to a Christmas Dinner Dec. 25 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the W.A. Anderson School cafeteria, 18603 Bothell Way NE, in Bothell. There is no charge for the meal, but organizers request that diners sign up at the Bothell Multi-Service Center or call (425) 788-6035. Drop-ins are also welcome. Great food and Christmas music will be featured.
