New Year's Eve celebrations

nines   The Space Needle will be the site of three indoor and one huge outdoor New Year's Eve parties including a free party at the Seattle Center Mural Amphitheater, a formal party in the restaurant, a "Dancin' in the Sky with KLSY" party on the Observation Deck, and Puttin' on the Glitz on the Skyline level.    Church of the Divine Man will hold a World Peace Meditation on New Year's Eve at 4 p.m. Refreshments and child care provided. Open donation. Call (425) 258-1449.

   Benaroya Hall will be the site of a festive New Year's Eve celebration when Maestro Gerard Schwarz and the Seattle Symphony host a midnight countdown to the New Year. In addition to the symphony's traditional Viennese-style concert which begins at 9 p.m., there will be a post-concert celebration with refreshments, fortune telling, party favors, and dancing. A pre-concert dinner with cocktails begins at 6 p.m at the Four Seasons Olympic Hotel. Call (206) 215-4748.

   The Everett Symphony presents The Night Before New Year's Eve on Dec. 30 at the Everett Performing Arts Center. Champagne and hors d'oeuvres will be served at 6:30 p.m., with the concert beginning at 7:30, followed by coffee and cookies. Cost is $25 per person. Call (425) 257-8382.
