'Chocolate Creations'

   Learn to make truffles, buttercreams and caramels in "Chocolate Creations," a workshop scheduled for Northshore Senior Center, Saturday, Jan. 16, from 1 to 5:30 p.m. Students will take their chocolates home. Family History and Genealogy

   Learn how to trace your ancestors in "Introduction to Family History and Genealogy," a Wednesday evening class beginning Jan. 20 and ending Feb. 24. The class will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Northshore Senior Center, 10201 E. Riverside Drive, Bothell. Students will do hands-on research with various record sources on field trips and learn interviewing techniques and documentation skills. Fee for the six-week class is $65. Blood center needs volunteers

   The Puget Sound Blood Center needs volunteers to contact new and exiting donors. Due to the training involved, the center asks for a three-month commitment. For information, call (425) 462-4392.

Donate old car to a good cause

   By donating your old (or new) car or truck to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation's "Cars for a Cure," you can earn a tax deduction based on the vehicle's Blue Book value. CCFA will arrange for free pick-up and towing. For information, call 206-574-0698.
