Of the 14 teams competing at the 25th annual Bellevue Community College Holiday Classic, the Bothell Cougars earned the consolation trophy for 4th place and the Inglemoor Vikings captured 5th place. The Cougars, who have their eyes on making it back to the state tournament again this year, took their final victory over Arlington 72-61 with the help of their 6 foot 8 senior swingman Dan Sandrin who scored 33 points. Both Sandrin and Kevin Bynum of Inglemoor made the all-tournament team. Bynum scored a team-high 22 points in the game against Glendora.
In last week's Tuesday games, the Woodinville Falcons beat Redmond 53-43. That's a significant win for the Falcons since Redmond is ranked #3 in the Associated Press Poll of Washington high schools.
Bothell lost to Garfield (60-33), with the bulldogs holding Dan Sandrin down to just 8 points. The Inglemoor Vikings lost to Juanita 59-53.
The lady Falcon basketball team is still undefeated after beating Skyline last week 54-42. Katie Wilson was the high point scorer for Woodinville with 14 points. The Lady Falcons are leading the Mountain division of 4A Kingco and are currently ranked #8 in the Associated Press Poll. The Lady Cougars from Bothell are 2nd in Lake Division of 4A Kingco and ranked #9 in the Associated Press Poll.
