Four former WHS football players saw action and spent a week in Hawaii preparing for and playing in the Oahu Bowl against the Air Force Academy on Christmas day.

The week prior to the game was spent practicing and sightseeing in and around Honolulu. The team visited Pearl Harbor and Paradise Cove and enjoyed a special luau. Several of the Huskies spent the day before Christmas visiting disabled adults and children at a Veterans' Hospital.

Marques Tuiasosopo scored twice for the UW, even though his playing time was limited to the second half. He ran 11 yards for a touchdown and passed seven times, completing five for 43 yards, including a game-ending 11-yard TD pass.

Tuiasosopo, WHS class of '97, played with fellow Falcon teammates Pat Conniff, the Huskies' starting fullback, Brad Hutt, starting center, and Dave Dawson, back-up center.

Conniff, who had been sidelined most of the season with injuries, appeared healthy as he blocked hard and ran for 12 yards. Conniff and Tuiasosopo, both sophomores, will be in the starting backfield again next year.

Hutt and Dawson both played their final game for the Huskies.
