Woodinville Parks & Rec programs for teens

   Woodinville Parks & Recreation Dept. has announced its winter activity schedule for teens.

   The Ski/Snowboard Bus will transport teens 14 and up to Stevens Pass ski area Jan. 18, 24, 31, Feb. 7, 16, March 6, 13. No supervision provided on the ski hill.

   Friday Skateboard Nights at the Bellevue Indoor Skateboard Center are planned for Feb. 12, March 12, and April 9. Bus leaves Woodinville City Hall at 9:30 p.m. and returns at approximately 12:30 a.m. Pre-register.

   Teens can create their own art projects (temporary tattoos, T-shirt designs or clay sculpting) as part of Saturday Teen Nights at Sorenson Series.

   A free Swing into Spring Dance is planned for March. 27 from 8 to 10 p.m. at the Sorenson Gym. Cost is $4. Guest swing dance instructors will provide dance tips, and the Woodinville High School Jazz Ensemble will provide the dance tunes.

   All bands are invited to play at Band Jam Night (Feb. 27) in preparation for the Battle of the Bands (April 10). Bands wanting to play must call to register and send in their sound tech support requirements by Feb. 22. Location will be announced; fliers will be available by March 1 at City Hall and local libraries.

   A Teen Women's Volleyball League for 7-9th grade girls will run March 22 through May 16. Teams will play Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. at Woodinville High School. Cost is $25 per person.

   A Games Tournament Night will be held March 20 from 7 to 10 p.m. at Sorenson Gym. Participants can play ping-pong or air hockey as part of the tournament or just for fun. Cost is $4.

   Drama Will Lead the Way, March 6 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Ages 12 to 14 can increase their reasoning ability, creativity, and emotional intelligence through goal-setting, improvisation, voice, and movement. Cost is $14. Call (425) 489-2700.
