Winter 'Rec Guide' now available

   To learn more about winter recreation opportunities in the King County Park System, pick up a copy of the new winter "Rec Guide." The guide is now available at no cost at King County Park System offices, King County libraries, by mail, or it can be viewed at the King County Park System website (www.metrokc.gov/parks/). Gorge XI returns

   Columbia Winery's annual Gorge XI returns Friday, Jan. 15. The three-day event features award-winning wines and Northwest specialty foods. Admission is $6 and includes a logo wine glass, as well as the wine tastings and food samples. Hours are: Jan. 15 from 3 to 9 p.m.; Jan. 16 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Jan. 17 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Columbia Winery is located at 14030 NE 145th St., Woodinville. Free seminars at Molbak's

   Interior Color Trends will be the subject at two seminars. Ken Charbonneau will discuss the latest interior colors, fabrics, and textures Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. and Jan. 16 at 9 a.m. Learn about the many plants that provide winter flowers, fragrance, bark, or berries at Winter's Garden Jewels Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. Pruning with Ciscoe Morris is set for Jan. 23 at 9 a.m. Kathy Mendelson will present fragrant planting ideas when the Year-Round Fragrance in the Garden seminar is held Jan. 29 at 7 p.m.
