Silent Auction/Ice Cream Social
Stillwater Elementary PTSA is sponsoring the 5th annual Silent Auction/Ice Cream Social/Reflections Awards ceremony on Thursday, Jan. 21, from 6:30-8 p.m. There will be a wide variety of beautiful gift baskets and other items for auction. Childbirth education class
A seven-week childbirth education class will be held weekly from 6:30-9 p.m. at Children's Services of Sno-Valley in North Bend starting Jan. 27. Call 888-2777.
Choir to rehearse
Between 40 and 50 singers, living everywhere from Carnation to Monroe, have joined the Valley Community Choir. They will be having their first rehearsal on Monday, Jan. 25, 7:30 p.m. in the music room at Cedarcrest High School. Sponsored by the Duvall Arts Commission and led by Cedarcrest Music Director Ryan Lewis, the choir looks forward to its first performance in the coming months. Lower Valley Advisory Group meets
The Lower Valley Youth Program Advisory Group will meet on Jan. 28, 3:15 p.m. at the Carnation Fire Station, 3600 Tolt Ave. This meeting is normally held on the 3rd Thursday of the month and will be held on the 4th Thursday this month only. Art volunteer opportunities
Seattle Women's Caucus for Art is seeking volunteers in the following areas: web design, fundraising, newsletter production, program development, and database management/mailing list. Call Lisa Sheets at 788-2831.
Friends of Youth classes
Friends of Youth Snoqualmie and Carnation offers the following winter classes:
- Active Parenting of Teens: A free six-week class designed for parents of youth ages 13-18. Combines the power of video with group discussion and support. Meets Mondays, 7-9 p.m. in Carnation. Call 392-6367.
- Active Parenting of 2-12-year-olds: A free eight-week parenting series designed to provide education, support, and encouragement. Topics include developing responsibility, active communication, and positive discipline. Will meet Thursdays beginning Feb. 25, 7-9 p.m. in Snoqualmie. Call 392-6367.
- Alcohol, Tobacco and other Drugs: An information and discussion group. A free four-week class for middle and high school students. Covers topics on the laws, signs and symptoms, family issues, and refusal skills. Class will be held in Snoqualmie. Call 392-6367 to register.
Novelty Cemetery Association to meet
The Novelty Cemetery Association will meet Wednesday, Feb. 10, in the Rose Room of the Duvall Library beginning at 7 p.m. All members are welcome. For information, call 788-2416.
