Community Club supports Kenmore Heritage Society
The opening of last week's Kenmore Heritage Society meeting held a welcome surprise for the newly-formed organization.
KHS board members Ed Straw and Bob Bannister announced a donation of $500 from the Kenmore Community Club to support the work of the heritage group. Formal presentation of the check will be made at the next KHS meeting.
"We are delighted to support the efforts of the Kenmore Heritage Society in documenting and celebrating the rich history of our community," Community Club president Ed Straw said. He was also hopeful that other community organziations will join in supporting the new group.
KHS has identified six areas which will be the focus of the group in their first year. The areas of focus and coordinator are:
The next meeting of the Kenmore Heritage Society will be held on Wednesday, February 10, at 8 p.m. at the Kenmore Community Club/Eagles Club. It's "Taco Night" at the Kenmore Eagles, so KHS members are invited to come for a delicious dinner and stay for the meeting.
