Alumni Applause

   The following students are taking part in Foreign Study Programs at Whitman College: Jennifer Weiss, 1996 graduate of Inglemoor High School, is in Vienna, Austria, taking classes sponsored by the Institute for the International Education of Students. Elizabeth Brenton, 1996 graduate of Woodinville High School, is in Scotland, taking classes at the University of St. Andrews.

   Sara Warner of Woodinville is a first-year student at Southern Methodist University.

   The following students attending Central Washington University have qualified for the 1998 honor roll: Spring quarter--Thomas Cady, Raymond Bautista, Lori Hermansen, Nathan Enns, Russ Morales, Kelly Mellinger, Jennifer Evans, Erica Galbreath, Natalie Schmidt, Catherine McCarthy, and Matthew Palmquist. Winter quarter--Raymond Bautista, Russ Morales, Jennifer Evans, Catherine McCarthy, Jennifer Blanken, Leslie Washam, Lauren Bolen, Renee Schiferl, Royce Cottle, and Jennifer Mielenz.

   Keri Baker and Krissi Mathers of Woodinville were among 14 runners who will represent Central Washington University in the NCAA Division II West Coast regional cross country meet.

   Christina Meyer of Truman State University maintained a 4.0 grade point average throughout her first year at Truman.

   Erik Miller, graduate of Inglemoor Senior High School, performed with the Whitman College Madrigal Singers.

   The following students worked this semester as tutors in the campus Writing Center at Whitman College: Matther Carter, 1996 graduate of Inglemoor High School; and Bonnie Yocum, 1996 graduate of Redmond High School.

   Melissa Szendre has been named to the 1998 fall term Deans' List at Oregon Institute of Technology.

   Jeremy Klosterman of Woodinville was on the first-term Dean's List at Northwest Nazarene College.

   Stephanie Eby of Woodinville was accepted to Albertson College of Idaho for Fall 1999 enrollment.

   The following students were on the Dean's List at Eastern Washington University during the fall quarter: Bothell--Margaret Langley, Neal Ossiander. Woodinville--Jule McKim, Kasie Palmer, Brian Roudesbush, Joel Shipley.

   The following students from Woodinville have been qualified at Central Washington University for the winter quarter honor roll: Kristine Mathers, Leslie Washam, Erica Galbreath, Richard Fuqua, and Andrea Oestreich.
