Rock concert to benefit women's shelter

Chris Barron, lead singer of The Spin Doctors, will front an all-star band in an evening of musical celebration on Feb. 13 at the Everett Performing Arts Center in a fund-raiser for the Everett Gospel Women's Shelter.

Performers will be Mark Cardenas, former keyboard player for Prince; Ben Smith, drummer for Heart; Mark Willet, bass player for the Kingsmen, and member of Paul Allen's band; and Kevin Peachy, former keyboard player for Marvin Gaye, Sly Stone, Edwin Starr, and Tower of Power.

Opening the show will be the Cinematics, a Seattle band which has appeared at Bumbershoot. Also on the bill will be Nomad Fish, celebrating the release of their latest CD.

Tickets are $11, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the women's shelter, which provides counseling. For information, call (206) 633-3000, ext. 104.
