Mid-winter break recreation programs

Two-Day Nature Workshop/Pollywogs and Nurse Logs: Don't spend all your winter break hibernating. Join this fun-filled nature exploration class on Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 16 and 17, from 9 a.m. to noon. There will be games, storytelling, a make-it-and-take-it craft, and a nature walk to see what the animals and plants are doing as spring approaches. The workshop will be held at Leota Junior High and is for ages 6-12 years. Children should bring a snack and dress for the weather. The instructor is a biologist and naturalist with over ten years of experience teaching children about the many wonders of nature. Cost is $26 per child.

Skyhawks Sports Camp: Skyhawks Sports Academy staff will provide a week filled with sports, games, and lots of fun, Tuesday through Friday, Feb. 16 through 19, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Leota Junior High gym. Sporting activities will include basketball, soccer, and baseball. Ages and ability levels will be separated to allow for a safe and enjoyable experience.

Ski/Snowboard Bus: The bus will once again begin heading up to the Stevens Pass Ski Area Tuesday, Feb. 16. Ages 14 and older are allowed to ride alone on this bus. This is ACCESS to the Ski Hill only and no supervision is provided on the ski hill. Cost is $16 per person and pre-registration is highly recommended. Pick-up is at Woodinville City Hall at 7:15 a.m.; bus departs at 7:30 a.m. and returns at 5:30 p.m. Additional buses will run on Feb. 27, March 6th and March 13th.
